What do I look for in a Contractor?

Licensed--Insured--Bonded:

Having these credentials protects "YOU" and your property should anything go wrong on your project.  This backing acts as a safety net and shows that your Contractor is a professional and stands behind their work.

Contracts:

A good Contractor will be just as detailed in their contracts as they are in the details of the "hands on" work.  Look for consistency in all aspects of their presentation and proposal, this will help ensure you're getting what you pay for.

Pricing:

Often times you'll get multiple bids on a project. When comparing these bids make sure your Contractors are offering the same work and details as these usually make up the big differences in prices.  Vague proposals may exclude details and then result in change orders as the project progresses and you may end up spending more than you anticipated in the beginning.  This often happens with "low bids" that look good at first but eventually leave you with a bad taste in your mouth upon completion of your project.  Remember you always "get what you pay for".  If your unsure what a typical project costs go to the Cost vs Value website listed above or call us directly and we can help steer you in the right direction.
